Job Clubs Network
Mutual support for successful employment through club networking
From June 2015, the Euroqualification Center, part of the Personnel Holding Group, in partnership with organizations from Italy, Greece, Portugal and the Netherlands, is working on the Job Clubs Network project. In line with the Europe 2020 strategy and the Youth on the Move initiative, aimed at facilitating the transition from education to employment, the project targets unemployed youths who have ceased active job search or training in the last 6 months. The Job Clubs Network aims to provide an alternative to traditional methods of combating youth unemployment by creating an activating environment for young people, by facilitating the exchange of experiences and contacts as well as mutual support in the process of finding a suitable job.
In order to achieve its objectives, the project focuses on the following activities:
- Provide opportunities for meetings and the exchange of ideas and experiences among unemployed young people;
- Making successive business meetings between the participants in each Job Club, based on a specially developed methodology and with monthly specialist mentoring provided;
- Increase the chances of finding a suitable job position within one year after going through the Job Club program;
- Providing training and social workers who support and direct the work of young people engaged in Job Club.
Any unemployed young person between the age of 19 and 30 can create a Job Club by bringing together a group of 6 to 12 other unemployed young people alongside the job search methodology and preparation for an interview. The project also provides an online-based simulation to help Job Club participants determine their job search style, identify ways to improve their approach and target more relevant positions.
